Nicaragua - From Riches to Rags
RBW teams that travel to Nicaragua partner with a local church in order to meet the needs of their individual community. In some areas, we do construction work, building churches or homes or renovating buildings that need some help. We reach into the community with Vacation Bible Schools and outreach evangelistic services. Where clothing is needed, we pass out clothing. Where food is needed, we pass out food. We pray with people, hug them, remind them that the God of the universe has not lost sight of them.
Groups traveling with us can chose to work in the city of Managua or reach out to the rural areas hardest hit by the economic crunch. There are pastors praying that the Lord of the harvest will send out workers to help them. Pastor Jose Ramirez of Catarina travels more than 3 miles everyday, on foot, up and down a mountain, to the location of his church. He's waiting for a team to come and help him build a small house on the side of his church's property so he wouldn't have to make that long walk anymore.
Pastor Mario Espinoza's church in Nandaime has a school attached to it and they would love a team to come down to help with painting, plumbing, and building construction. They strive to take the message of Christ to their community in tangible ways and they invite teams to come to serve in their school and in the neighborhood.
