Teams can work in the capital city of Managua,
or travel to rural villages. We partner with CNPEN, the National
Association of Evangelical Pastors of Nicaragua and have opportunities
throughout the country. We work in construction, Vacation Bible
School Outreaches, Drama, Music and Preaching Outreaches, clothing
and food distribution, and other ministries as requested by the
local churches.
Recent History of Nicaragua: Nicaragua was once the richest country of Central
America, but today, it stands as the poorest. It has been hit with civil war,
hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, mudslides, tornados and economic collapse in
the past 40 years and many parts remain in devastating poverty. Rural pastors
often receive less than $35.00 a month from their congregations because of 50-70%
unemployment rates. Children don't attend school because there is no money for
shoes, or uniforms, or books, or lunches. But, you can be a messenger of hope
to this country.
