Pastor Pablo and his wife Marta, serve the Lord in a church in Tipitapa, Nicaragua. Pablo became a follower of Christ after spending many years as a follower of Marx and Lenin. An old woman with a heart for the youth of Nicaragua witnessed to him and he gave his heart and life to Jesus. He entered seminary shortly after coming to Christ and has been in the ministry as a pastor for the past 30 years. He loves to study the Bible and English. Preaching, teaching, and evangelism are favorite areas of the pastorate but he also loves visiting and praying for people who are sick and in need. He has seen God heal in response to prayers for the sick and he gives all glory to the Lord. Pablo has planted two churches and has trained his son and another leader in the planting of a third one which has taken off like fire in the area around the University.
Additional Comments:Pablo's family of nine receives about $90 a month from the church offerings. Tuition costs run $50 a month for their own children and a niece and nephew who live with them. This cost will increase as the kids enter the upper grades. They have also taken in a toddler boy from the church whose single mom can not supply his needs.
They live in a block house consisting on one long room with curtains to separate the sleeping areas from the living areas. They have electricity and potable water in their home. Typical meals consist of rice and beans.
