Pastor Julio Marín and family
Pastor Julio Marin and his wife began their ministry as pastor of the church in San Marcos, Rivas, Nicaragua, 10 years ago. They had served as lay leaders for 14 years before that.  San Marcos is extremely rural and the 75 + church members have to travel great distances on foot, bicycle, or horseback to gather for worship.  The people of the area survive on subsistance farming, and the tithes and offerings to the church often come in the form of chickens or beans.  The pressures of extreme poverty cannot remove the commitment of service to the Lord and the Marin family continues to minister faithfully.  Their four children have to travel 3 kilometers on foot to get to school and their schooling has been frequently interrupted by lack of money to buy shoes or school supplies.  Currently, only two of them can attend school.

Their home is adobe block walls, dirt floor and tile roof.  They have sporadic electricity and water from a pump on the land.  Their normal meal consists of rice and beans.

Need:  Partial sponsorship in the amount of $25.00 a month, plus one time yearly gift of $30 for for daughter's school tuition.
