Gustavo was born into a Christian home but he ran from the Lord until about 18 years of age when he had a dream that brought him to a point of decision. He accepted the Lord and his chaotic and destructive way of life changed radically as he began to serve the Lord passionately. After working as a layperson for many years, his pastor sent him to minister in another village in a congregation without a pastor. He has been serving as pastor ever since then.
With 4 children in school and a niece living with the family, much of the small pay they receive from the church goes for food and school expenses. They live very simply and strive to keep their children in school. Their children serve with them in the ministry.
Additional Comments:
Pastor Gustavo's ministry includes preaching and visitation and prayer but he enjoys teaching and discipleship the most. The congregation meets weekly in small house groups and then comes together for joint worship. This pastoral family live in a parsonage with a dirt floor and aluminum roof.
